THEIR STORY

Creamies is a loved ice cream bar company sold across the Western United States, especially in Utah and Idaho. These delicious and simple bars have been around since the 1950s and haven't changed much since then. The objective of this project was to help Creamies improve, update, and build awareness in markets in Arizona, Colorado, and California. Additionally, the project aimed to come up with a new and more relevant design for today's consumers.

MY SOLUTION

•  Write marketing plan and executive summary

•  Research and design storyboard for future video

•  Create brand image design for swag

•  Create updated packaging for the new generation of customers

•  Write 2 blog posts per month

•  Send out a survey to the target audience to understand their perspectives

•  Find and schedule four events in Colorado & Arizona

Competitive analysis

HALO TOP

Skinny Cow provides a reasonably portioned low-fat ice cream. It appeals to woman who want a sweet treat but don’t want all the calories. Their price can range from $3.90-$4.60. They are very active on social media.

SKINNY COW

Halo Top creates a healthy ice cream with few calories. It includes dairy-free and vegan options. They boast the quality of their product comparison to their competition. Halo Top is geared towards a modern generation. The price per pint is around $4.

HAAGEN DAZS

Haagen Dazs’ makes 65 flavors of ice cream with "the creamiest of textures and finest ingredients." They are well-loved by consumers and their brand reflects that love. Haagen Dazs is in most well-known grocery stores. The price ranges from $4.00-$4.60. 

BEN & JERRY'S

Ben & Jerry’s strives to make delicious ice cream in a variety of flavors, over 60. Ben & Jerry’s uses a fun, playful, and clever marketing tactic. The price depends on the product, but has a wide range from $1.40 to $4.50.

KLONDIKE

Klondike bars is a family-run business that asks, “what would you do for a Klondike bar?” They are not extremely healthy-conscious. The overall look is simple and recognizable. The price ranges from $3.00-$4.00.

THE STRATEGY

There are three target personas Creamies is trying to reach– 'Modish Moms, 'Doting Grannies,' and 'Unbeknownst Buyers.' Using the deliverables listed above, we increased the sales in Arizona, Utah, and Colorado.
